Patricia Okoumo sentenced to community service Patricia Okoumo, the protester who climbed the Statue of Liberty on July 4, 2018, has been sentenced to five years probation and 200 hours community service. Okoumo was convicted in December for trespassing after she climbed the Statue of Liberty and refused to come down in protest of the separation of families at the US-Mexico border.   University of Missouri Police Officer Fired After Blackface photo surfaces The University of Missouri has fired one of its police officers after a picture of him in blackface was anonymously delivered to the University Tuesday Morning.
